Part-Time Instructor – Biology (Pool)

Robeson Community College is seeking a dedicated part-time biology instructor to join our faculty in Biggs Park, Robeson County. As a part-time instructor of biology at Robeson Community College, you will serve as a professional educator committed to fostering meaningful learning outcomes for our students. This position focuses on designing and delivering high-quality biology instruction that prepares students for transfer to four-year institutions, career advancement, or personal enrichment.

What You'll Do

• Develop and organize biology course materials, lesson plans, and learning activities aligned with institutional standards and educational best practices
• Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in biology disciplines, whether general biology, organismal biology, cellular biology, or related laboratory coursework
• Create and administer assessments that accurately measure student achievement and support continuous improvement
• Maintain regular office hours and provide individualized academic support to foster student success
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain curriculum quality, program alignment, and coherent educational pathways
• Participate in professional development and keep current with advances in biology and science education
• Perform all instruction-related administrative duties in a timely and professional manner

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related life science field (Master's degree preferred)
• Demonstrated experience teaching biology at the post-secondary level or equivalent expertise in adult education
• Strong command of biology content knowledge and contemporary scientific methods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine commitment to student learning and success
• Ability to organize course materials, manage time effectively, and meet institutional deadlines
• Willingness to engage with diverse student populations and contribute to an inclusive learning environment
