Part-Time Psychology Instructor (Pool)

Robeson Community College is seeking a Part-Time Psychology Instructor (Pool) to join its teaching team in Biggs Park, Robeson County.

This part‑time faculty position supports the college’s mission to deliver high‑quality psychology instruction to a diverse student body while maintaining flexible scheduling for working professionals.

About the Role

As a member of the psychology instructor pool, you will teach undergraduate psychology courses on a semester‑by‑semester basis, helping students build foundational knowledge in areas such as general psychology, developmental psychology, and abnormal psychology. The role is designed for qualified educators who wish to contribute their expertise without a full‑time commitment.

What You'll Do

• Develop and deliver engaging lecture presentations, discussions, and activities aligned with course learning outcomes.
• Create syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment tools that meet college academic standards.
• Evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in accordance with institutional policies.
• Hold regular office hours or virtual meetings to support student learning outside of class time.
• Select appropriate textbooks, multimedia resources, and supplemental materials for each course.
• Participate in department meetings, curriculum reviews, and professional development opportunities as scheduling permits.
• Adhere to Robeson Community College’s policies on academic integrity, accessibility, and equity in the classroom.

What We're Looking For

• A master’s degree in Psychology or a closely related field; a doctorate is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience teaching psychology at the college or university level.
• Strong command of core psychology concepts and familiarity with current research and instructional methods.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to engage students with varied learning styles.
• Proficiency with learning management systems and basic educational technology tools.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Availability to teach during day, evening, or weekend sessions as needed by the department.
