Position Summary

Celebrating motivated, highly skilled professionals, CGSfederal is currently seeking a Paralegal IV to join our Legal Services team. This role supports a significant Federal agency initiative and requires an individual who can handle high volumes of data and discovery documents with precision.

Responsibilities

• Organize and process large quantities of data and discovery documents, including electronic discovery.
• Evaluate the completeness of discovery productions and produce necessary documentation.
• Compile, prepare, and summarize materials for use by AUSAs in discovery, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Seek out sources of information through contact or correspondence with federal, state, and local government departments/agencies to support criminal investigations and trials.
• Gather factual material independently; read, annotate, and summarize transcripts, files, and case-related documents. Obtain financial and statistical information, agency records, court records, and other public records.
• Review and analyze documents, drafting factual memoranda as needed. Identify conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation.
• Draft jury instructions and other trial documents for filing in court.
• Conduct legal research and write preliminary drafts of correspondence to assist AUSAs.

Requirements

• Experienced Paralegal with a proven track record in handling high volumes of data and discovery documents.
• Ability to produce complete and accurate discovery productions.
• Proficiency in compiling, preparing, and summarizing materials for AUSAs’ use.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to seek out information and collaborate with various departments/agencies.
• Independent fact-gathering abilities and the ability to read, annotate, and summarize documents effectively.
• Experience in reviewing and analyzing documents, drafting factual memoranda, and identifying areas for further investigation.
• Ability to draft jury instructions and other trial documents for court filing.
• Strong legal research skills and experience writing preliminary drafts of correspondence.
