Tallahassee State College is hiring a part-time OPS Landscaper to join our Facilities–Operations Services team at the Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education Campus in Tallahassee. Help maintain beautiful, functional outdoor spaces that serve our college community every day.
Position Summary
As an OPS Landscaper, you'll perform essential grounds maintenance and landscape operations across our campus facilities. This is a part-time role where you'll contribute directly to the visual appeal and usability of college property while working alongside our facilities team. You'll operate equipment, manage seasonal plantings, and ensure outdoor areas support the academic and professional success of our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine lawn mowing, edging, and turf maintenance across campus grounds
- Plant, prune, and care for shrubs, trees, flowers, and seasonal beds
- Operate landscape equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and effectively
- Maintain landscaping beds, pathways, and grounds to college standards
- Remove leaves, debris, and litter from outdoor areas
- Support seasonal landscaping projects and special campus events as needed
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to facilities management
Who We're Looking For
- Experience with landscape maintenance, grounds keeping, or similar outdoor work
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely and responsibly
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Attention to detail and pride in quality work
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and equipment
