About This Position

Eocene Environmental Group is seeking a dedicated Archaeological Field Monitor to support our project teams in the field. As an on-call team member, you'll respond to variable scheduling needs, working primarily in the field with minimal office presence. Reporting to the Project Manager II, you'll be part of a collaborative team committed to archaeological excellence and regulatory compliance across a multi-state region.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site archaeological monitoring and document findings with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Perform field surveys and inspections according to established protocols and methodologies
  • Record and maintain detailed field data, observations, and project records
  • Communicate findings and updates to the Project Manager II and project team
  • Ensure compliance with archaeological standards, regulations, and project-specific requirements
  • Support field operations and logistics as project needs arise

Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in archaeological fieldwork or related environmental field roles
  • Knowledge of archaeological methods, documentation standards, and industry best practices
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate, detailed field records
  • Physical capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to travel within Eastern Oregon, Western Idaho, and Nevada as project schedules require
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory or compliance frameworks is a plus
