About the Role
This non-exempt, hourly position reports to the Project Manager and is designed for biologists who thrive in flexible, on-call arrangements. Work is anticipated to begin in late summer 2026 and run through fall and winter, with compensation of $32–$40 per hour based on your relevant experience. As operational needs evolve, this role may transition to full-time employment.
What You'll Do
- Conduct field sampling, environmental monitoring, and scientific data collection to support project deliverables
- Analyze biological and environmental findings; interpret results and prepare technical documentation
- Produce clear, accurate reports and maintain detailed field records for compliance and client review
- Partner with project leadership and field teams to meet regulatory requirements and client objectives
- Support environmental compliance activities and adherence to applicable state and federal standards
- Adapt scheduling to seasonal project demands and client timelines in the Idaho City area
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, ecology, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
- Hands-on expertise in environmental fieldwork, sampling protocols, and data collection methods
- Strong technical writing and scientific reporting capabilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team structure
- Comfort with variable scheduling and on-call availability requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to field sites
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance frameworks is valued
