About the Role
As an Occupational Safety Coordinator at the University of Florida, you will help administer the Indoor Environmental Quality Program and contribute to broader workplace safety initiatives across campus. This full-time, on-site position (classified as Environmental Health & Safety CDR I) places you at the center of efforts to maintain healthy, compliant, and well-managed indoor environments for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support for the administration and coordination of the Indoor Environmental Quality Program.
- Assist with assessing, monitoring, and improving conditions that affect occupational and indoor environmental safety.
- Help carry out related environmental health and safety activities in accordance with university standards and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with departments and personnel to promote safe practices and resolve indoor environmental concerns.
- Document findings and support recordkeeping that keeps programs organized and audit-ready.
Qualifications
- A master's degree in a relevant field of specialization combined with two years of applicable experience, or
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field of specialization combined with three years of applicable experience.
- Familiarity with environmental health, indoor air quality, or occupational safety principles is a strong asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities suited to a collaborative campus setting.
