NOC Engineer

Join Prime System Solutions as a NOC Engineer in our fully remote position, supporting critical network operations from Johannesburg South, Gauteng, South Africa. Position Summary

As a NOC Engineer at Prime System Solutions, you'll be the backbone of our network operations team. Working remotely from Johannesburg South or anywhere in South Africa, you'll monitor, maintain, and optimise our network infrastructure to ensure seamless service delivery. This full-time role demands a proactive professional who can identify issues before they impact our clients and respond swiftly when incidents occur. You'll manage a diverse range of systems and take ownership of network health across multiple environments.

What You'll Do

• Monitor network devices, systems, and infrastructure in real-time using industry-standard monitoring and alerting platforms
• Respond promptly to network alarms and service incidents, troubleshooting and escalating as needed
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including patching, updates, and configuration management
• Document all network incidents, resolutions, and changes in our ticketing system for audit and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with network architects, system administrators, and support teams to resolve complex technical issues
• Maintain accurate records of network topology, device configurations, and infrastructure changes
• Identify trends and contribute to capacity planning and network optimisation initiatives

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a NOC Engineer or similar network operations role
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network architecture principles
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring and alerting tools
• Proficiency with ticketing and incident management systems
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar are advantageous
