About the Role
As a Morning News Producer with Gray Media, you will shape the newscasts that wake up viewers across central Wisconsin. Working from our Schofield, Marathon County location, you will build smart, timely, and engaging morning programming that informs and connects with the local community. This is a full-time, in-station position for candidates who love the rhythm of live news and want to grow with one of the country's leading local broadcasters.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, write, and produce compelling morning newscasts for WSAW/WZAW from start to finish.
- Select and prioritize stories, deciding placement, pacing, and overall flow of each show.
- Craft clear, accurate, and original scripts, headlines, and on-screen graphics.
- Coordinate closely with anchors, reporters, photographers, and the production team during live broadcasts.
- Monitor breaking news and adjust the rundown quickly to keep coverage current.
- Incorporate digital and social content to extend stories beyond the broadcast.
