About the Role

As Microbiology Associate Director, you'll lead critical laboratory operations and strategy at our El Paso facility. This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll drive excellence in microbiology testing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. You'll manage teams, oversee laboratory procedures, and ensure our products meet the highest standards for safety and efficacy that healthcare systems and patients depend on.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and mentor microbiology laboratory staff, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
• Direct laboratory testing protocols, methodologies, and analytical procedures aligned with FDA, USP, and industry standards
• Ensure sterility assurance, contamination detection, and environmental monitoring programs meet compliance requirements
• Manage microbial identification, characterization, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing workflows
• Oversee quality control and quality assurance functions, including method validation and verification
• Collaborate with manufacturing, product development, and regulatory teams to optimize processes and resolve technical issues
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, records, and audit trails for regulatory inspections
• Drive process improvements and implement best practices in laboratory operations

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related scientific discipline; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in clinical, pharmaceutical, or medical device microbiology
• Demonstrated expertise in laboratory management, quality systems, and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership and communication skills with proven ability to manage and develop teams
• Knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMP, and ISO standards for medical device manufacturing
• Experience with sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and contamination control
• Proficiency with LIMS and laboratory information management systems
• Problem-solving mindset and commitment to operational excellence
