About the Role

As a Medical Secretary in Cardiology, you'll be the organizational foundation of a dynamic clinical practice. You'll manage patient scheduling, medical records, and communications that keep our Garden City cardiology operations running smoothly. Your attention to detail and professional demeanor will directly enhance patient experiences and clinical efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Schedule and manage patient appointments for cardiology consultations, diagnostic procedures, and follow-up visits
• Welcome patients, verify insurance coverage, and manage the check-in process
• Maintain and organize patient medical records in full compliance with HIPAA requirements
• Facilitate communications between cardiologists, nursing staff, and other clinical team members
• Answer phones and route inquiries to appropriate clinical or administrative personnel
• Process patient correspondence, referral requests, and medical documentation
• Assist with preparing examination rooms and administrative setup for cardiology procedures
• Verify insurance pre-authorization for cardiology services and treatments
• Support transcription and accurate documentation using medical terminology

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare administrative practices
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Professional written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency with computer systems, medical office software, and standard office applications
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy
• Prior medical office or healthcare administrative experience preferred
