About the Role

Leidos' Engineering & Design organization is seeking an experienced manager to oversee transmission line engineering projects. As Manager of Transmission Line Engineering, you'll direct multidisciplinary teams through every phase—from initial concept through final detailed design—while maintaining the highest standards for safety, reliability, and compliance. This full-time position offers the opportunity to influence critical infrastructure while managing scope, schedule, and resources on significant assignments.

What You'll Do

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams on transmission line design and delivery projects
  • Direct project execution from conceptual development through detailed engineering and client deliverables
  • Ensure all work meets NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) and ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) compliance standards
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance and safety protocols across project phases
  • Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to align on objectives and expectations
  • Develop and mentor technical staff, fostering professional growth within the team

What We're Looking For

  • Substantial experience managing transmission line engineering projects or utility infrastructure work
  • Deep knowledge of high-voltage transmission system design and electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrated expertise in NESC, ASCE, and utility industry compliance frameworks
  • Strong project management skills covering scope, schedule, budget, and resource oversight
  • Proven leadership managing technical teams in engineering or design environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field (Professional Engineering license preferred)
  • Ability to balance technical rigor with business priorities and client needs
