Manufacturing Engineer

Trupanion is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in San Leandro, CA. This full-time position offers the opportunity to drive manufacturing efficiency and quality across our operations in the San Leandro area.

About This Position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Trupanion, you'll play a key role in optimizing production processes and ensuring consistent quality standards. This role combines technical expertise with operational leadership, requiring you to analyze manufacturing workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and reliability. You'll work cross-functionally to support production goals while maintaining our commitment to quality and safety.

Core Duties

• Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce costs
• Design, test, and implement process improvements and equipment enhancements
• Monitor production quality, investigate issues, and develop corrective actions
• Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot operational challenges and resolve bottlenecks
• Document and maintain technical specifications, process standards, and standard operating procedures
• Support equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance teams
• Analyze production data and metrics to inform decision-making

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Proven experience in manufacturing process design, optimization, or production engineering
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
• Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software or process modeling tools
• Knowledge of quality management systems and manufacturing best practices
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams
• Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
