Manager, Paid Search

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading media agency in their search for a Manager, Paid Search based in London. Our client is seeking an experienced professional who will take ownership of ongoing client engagements and lead paid search teams in the UK and offshore locations. This role offers the opportunity to develop strategic vision for major brands and deliver performance-driven campaigns at scale.

Responsibilities

Client Performance Delivery

• Leading the planning, creation, and ongoing management of paid search campaigns across Google and Bing platforms
• Conducting health checks on accounts to ensure alignment with industry best practices
• Proactively optimizing accounts, monitoring market changes, and identifying development opportunities
• Creating and executing development and testing plans, including platform beta opportunities
• Preparing presentations and leading client calls and face-to-face meetings
• Translating campaign strategy into tactical campaign delivery

Team Leadership

• Delegating and managing workloads across junior team members
• Supporting and mentoring Account Executives and offshore teams
• Motivating team members to develop their knowledge of paid search best practices
• Owning and contributing to personal development plans
• Arranging and attending training to progress team knowledge and capability
• Collaborating with other digital teams within the organization

Operational Excellence

• Maximizing operational efficiencies through full use of available technology and bid management platforms
• Accurately managing budgets and adhering to finance processes
• Ensuring junior team members follow all process requirements
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and providing recommendations
• Writing case studies of successful campaign work
• Contributing to new business pitches and cross-agency initiatives

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills and Experience

• Exceptional hands-on paid search experience with comprehensive knowledge of best practices
• Proven experience supporting, developing, and mentoring junior team members and offshore teams
• Performance-focused mindset with strong ability to turn insight into action
• Expert-level skills in developing and implementing audience strategies to optimize paid search campaigns
• Experience applying bid rules, buying methods, and automation to optimize campaign management
• Ability to clearly articulate rationale for proposed campaign tactics and present to internal stakeholders and clients
• Understanding of how paid search integrates with other digital and offline channels
• Ability to devise testing approaches and roadmaps that deliver statistically significant results
• Experience working with client leadership and developing day-to-day client relationships
• Analytically minded with excellent attention to detail and ability to identify trends in large datasets
• Right to work in the UK
