Frisco, Summit County's Summit School District is hiring a Long Term Substitute School Psychologist beginning August 15, 2019 through November 1, 2019. About the Role
As a School Psychologist substitute with Summit School District, you'll deliver comprehensive psychological and mental health services that directly support student achievement and well-being. This role combines direct counseling interventions with assessment, program evaluation, and close collaboration with school teams to address the academic and behavioral needs of our student population. You'll work with students who have Individualized Education Plans as well as general education students, providing evidence-based psychological expertise to foster positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group counseling services to targeted IEP students and other students referred for mental health support
- Conduct psychoeducational and behavioral assessments to identify student needs and inform intervention planning
- Interpret psychological and achievement data for school teams, explaining how assessment findings relate to academic performance and behavioral patterns
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, special education staff, and families to develop, implement, and monitor student interventions
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility evaluations, and school-based problem-solving teams
- Evaluate the effectiveness of mental health programs and counseling initiatives based on measurable student outcomes
- Serve as a resource to school staff regarding psychological data interpretation, student mental health needs, and evidence-based support strategies
What We're Looking For
- Current licensure or certification as a School Psychologist in Colorado or reciprocal credential recognized by the Colorado Department of Education
- Demonstrated experience providing individual and group counseling in K-12 school environments
- Proficiency administering and interpreting psychoeducational assessments and behavioral rating scales
- Strong communication and collaborative skills with educators, families, and diverse student populations
- Ability to support students with special needs, emotional challenges, and complex behavioral concerns
- Commitment to culturally responsive and evidence-based school psychology practices
