Legal Counsel at Northpower in Regent, Whangarei
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our legal team on a 12-month fixed-term basis (maternity leave cover). This is a part-time role offering hybrid working flexibility, with a commitment of 24–30 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to start in August.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Legal
- Contribute to the team's legal strategy and initiatives
- Provide legal advice on various matters, including contracts, compliance, and regulatory issues
- Support the management of legal risks and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations
- Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing projects
Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Legal Counsel or similar role
- Strong knowledge of local laws, regulations, and legal principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload efficiently
