Legal Counsel (Blockchain Payment)

Hyphen Connect Limited, a forward-thinking fintech startup headquartered in the US, is seeking a Legal Counsel specialized in blockchain payment systems. This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape the legal framework of a growing company at the forefront of cross-border payment innovation.

About the Role

As Legal Counsel for Blockchain Payment, you'll be the cornerstone of our compliance and contract strategy. Working directly with our leadership team, you'll navigate the evolving regulatory landscape governing digital payments while protecting the company's legal interests. Your expertise will be critical as we expand our cross-border payment solutions in a complex, highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to cross-border blockchain payment transactions and partnerships
• Monitor emerging regulatory developments from the SEC, FinCEN, and international financial authorities
• Analyze and ensure compliance with SEC regulations and the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA)
• Provide legal counsel on payment protocols, smart contracts, and blockchain technology implementation
• Develop and maintain compliance documentation and policies for blockchain payment operations
• Identify regulatory risks and recommend preventive measures to protect company operations

Who We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in financial services law, payment systems law, or fintech legal practice
• Demonstrated knowledge of SEC regulations and securities law as applied to blockchain and digital assets
• Familiarity with MiCA compliance requirements and international payment regulation
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable business strategy
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
