What You'll Do

Lead end-to-end protection and control system testing initiatives, including developing comprehensive test plans, executing relay calibration, and performing functional verification of complex schemes. Mentor junior engineers through knowledge-sharing sessions, technical reviews, and on-the-job guidance to accelerate team capability. Collaborate with project managers and clients to scope testing requirements, troubleshoot anomalies in real-time, and deliver detailed reports that support reliable grid operations. Identify opportunities to integrate new test equipment, automation tools, and digital simulation techniques to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Oversee practice growth by contributing to business development, proposal preparation, and the creation of training programs that position the team as a recognized leader in protection and controls testing.

What You Bring

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field combined with at least eight years of progressive experience in protection and controls testing within utility or industrial environments. Deep expertise in relay testing, microprocessor-based protection systems, SCADA integration, and commissioning of high-voltage substations. Proven ability to interpret complex schematics, protection coordination studies, and control logic diagrams while maintaining rigorous attention to safety and procedural compliance. Strong leadership capabilities demonstrated through previous mentoring, team development, or technical project leadership roles. Excellent problem-solving skills, clear communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset that thrives in fast-paced, client-facing settings. Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, NERC, and PRC requirements is essential, along with hands-on proficiency using modern test sets and diagnostic software.
