Environmental Test Engineer

Espace is seeking an Environmental Test Engineer to join our team in Saratoga, CA. As a full-time, on-site role, you'll lead the environmental qualification and acceptance testing program for our advanced satellite antenna systems.

As an Environmental Test Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our large deployable antenna structures meet the rigorous demands of space operations.

This hands-on position challenges you to design, plan, and execute a comprehensive environmental test campaign. You'll move from technical requirements through test execution, data analysis, and resolution of any anomalies that emerge. If troubleshooting an unexpected test result energizes you, this role is built for your curiosity and problem-solving drive.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and flow down environmental test requirements for antenna assemblies in both stowed and deployed configurations
• Plan and oversee vibration, shock, thermal-vacuum, and acoustic testing programs
• Coordinate with test facilities and manage hardware logistics across California and Texas sites
• Execute testing campaigns, capture data, and document results in detailed test reports
• Investigate and resolve anomalies, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions
• Travel between test sites as needed to ensure hands-on presence and oversight

Qualifications

• Experience designing or executing environmental test programs (vibration, shock, thermal, acoustic) for aerospace or space applications
• Familiarity with relevant standards and test methodologies (MIL-STD, NASA, or equivalent)
• Strong technical foundation in mechanical engineering or related discipline
• Comfort with hands-on lab work and test facility coordination
• Ability to manage multiple testing phases and communicate findings clearly to cross-functional teams
• Willingness to travel between California and Texas test locations
