Role Overview
As a Lead Professional in Hydrogeology, you'll direct investigations into aquifer behavior, contaminant transport, and groundwater flow in complex geological settings. You'll work with clients across government, industrial, and development sectors—guiding site characterization, remediation strategy, and regulatory compliance. Your expertise will shape how communities and organizations understand and protect their subsurface resources and manage environmental risk.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead hydrogeological field investigations, sampling programs, and data collection to evaluate groundwater conditions and subsurface geology.
- Direct conceptual model development and perform quantitative analysis of groundwater flow and contaminant fate and transport.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, regulatory submissions, and client presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical and expert audiences.
- Oversee junior hydrogeologists and technical staff, mentoring them on best practices, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams—geotechnical engineers, environmental scientists, and regulatory specialists—to deliver integrated site solutions.
- Engage directly with clients to understand project scope, manage expectations, and deliver outcomes that meet both technical and business objectives.
What You Bring
- A professional hydrogeology credential (PE, PG, or PH) or equivalent advanced degree and demonstrated field experience.
- Strong command of groundwater hydrology, aquifer testing, and contaminant transport modeling.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior professionals toward professional growth.
- Experience navigating state and federal environmental regulations relevant to groundwater and site remediation.
- Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex subsurface science for clients, regulators, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking in real-world hydrogeological challenges.
