Position Summary
L3Harris Space and Mission Systems is seeking a Lead, Embedded Software Engineer for our Wilmington, MA location to join a talented team of experts developing Embedded Flight Software for space-based imaging payloads. This role involves the complete software lifecycle from design through implementation.
<h2-Core Duties- Design, develop, and implement algorithms, controls, and subsystems for aerospace applications
- Lead the development and testing of embedded flight software
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in software development
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in embedded systems software development for aerospace applications
- Demonstrated expertise in C/C++ programming languages
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems and embedded Linux is preferred
- Experience with spacecraft software development, including flight software design and testing
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus
