The Opportunity
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Director to lead cross-sector mechanical engineering strategy and discipline excellence across the Space & Mission Systems (SMS) segment. Reporting to the Vice President of SMS Engineering Technology & AI, this leader will partner with the sectors to deliver on today's commitments while building tomorrow's mechanical engineering discipline today.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage cross-sector knowledge to drive innovation and strategy in mechanical engineering
- Partner closely with various sectors to ensure alignment of mechanical engineering goals with overall business objectives
- Develop and implement strategies for enhancing mechanical engineering discipline within the SMS segment
- Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of projects while maintaining cost-effectiveness
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in mechanical engineering practices
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineering Director or equivalent role
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, design, and analysis
- Experience in the aerospace and defense industry is preferred
