Kindergarten Teacher – Spanish Immersion

Join Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center as a full-time Kindergarten Teacher – Spanish Immersion at our Spanish Immersion School within Mansfield City Schools. You'll guide young learners through foundational Spanish language arts and social studies instruction, building bilingual literacy and cultural awareness from day one.

About the Role

This kindergarten position offers the opportunity to establish the Spanish language foundation for students entering our immersion program. You'll deliver instruction entirely in Spanish, creating an immersive environment where five- and six-year-olds develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills while exploring social studies concepts—all in Spanish.

What You'll Do

• Teach Spanish language arts and social studies using research-based immersion pedagogy
• Develop and execute daily lesson plans aligned with state standards and immersion best practices
• Build phonemic awareness, phonics, and early literacy skills in Spanish
• Create a classroom culture that celebrates Spanish language and Hispanic culture
• Monitor student progress in bilingual language development and provide differentiated instruction
• Manage classroom routines and behavior using positive, developmentally appropriate practices
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and immersion program goals
• Collaborate with fellow immersion educators to ensure program coherence

What We're Looking For

• Current K-8 state teaching certification (Ohio or reciprocal)
• Fluent Spanish proficiency, both oral and written
• Demonstrated experience or strong understanding of dual-language immersion methodology
• Ability to engage kindergarteners with patience, creativity, and positive classroom management
• Bachelor's degree in education, child development, or related field
• Commitment to supporting all learners, including English learners and students with diverse needs
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and families
