About the Role

This internship places you on the front lines of our Fish & Invertebrates team, where you'll engage in direct, supervised work with our collection. You'll contribute to daily care, observation, and training activities while learning from experienced professionals who are passionate about marine and freshwater life. This full-time position offers immersive learning in a working professional environment.

What You'll Do

• Participate in hands-on animal training and behavioral enrichment activities with our fish and invertebrate collection
• Assist with daily husbandry tasks, including feeding, tank maintenance, and habitat monitoring
• Support our aquarium specialists in data collection and animal observation protocols
• Work assigned gallery rotations to develop broad exposure across different exhibit environments
• Contribute to visitor education and public engagement activities as appropriate
• Follow all safety and animal welfare protocols established by our team

What We're Looking For

• Genuine interest in marine biology, ichthyology, or aquatic animal science
• Ability to commit to a full-time schedule for the Fall 2026 internship period
• Strong attention to detail and reliability in a team setting
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals
• Physical capability to perform tasks involving standing, lifting, and working in varied environments
• High school diploma or equivalent (or enrolled in or planning to enroll in an undergraduate program in a related field)
