Industrial Water/Wastewater Project Manager

CDM Smith is hiring an Industrial Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our Des Moines, Polk County office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead critical infrastructure projects that serve communities and industries across the region while growing your career with a nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm.

About the Role

As Industrial Water/Wastewater Project Manager, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You'll direct planning, budgeting, and execution while coordinating with engineering teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to deliver solutions that meet rigorous environmental standards and project timelines.

What You'll Do

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables from inception through completion
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians, and consultants
• Communicate progress and requirements to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory partners
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, industry codes, and safety standards
• Monitor project quality, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
• Oversee vendor relationships, procurement, and contract management
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of project management experience in water, wastewater, or industrial utilities
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and water infrastructure design
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and schedules on complex projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
