About the Role

This is a senior scientific position centered on advancing human factors knowledge in aerospace contexts. You'll take ownership of research programs that investigate how pilots, engineers, and maintenance personnel interact with aircraft systems, controls, and interfaces. Your work will directly influence the design and certification of systems that protect thousands of lives daily.

What You'll Do

• Lead and design human factors research studies, from methodology development through execution and analysis
• Conduct cognitive workload assessments, usability evaluations, and human performance testing in aerospace environments
• Translate research findings into actionable design recommendations for aircraft systems and flight deck interfaces
• Collaborate with engineering, certification, and product development teams to integrate human factors principles into new technologies
• Mentor junior researchers and support the growth of human factors capabilities within the organization
• Present technical findings to internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and the broader scientific community
• Stay current with human factors research trends, standards, and regulatory requirements in commercial and defense aviation

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrated expertise in human factors research methodologies, experimental design, and statistical analysis
• Strong background in aviation human factors, pilot performance, or human-machine interaction in safety-critical systems
• Experience leading research initiatives and presenting complex technical concepts clearly
• Familiarity with aerospace certification standards and regulatory frameworks (FAA knowledge a plus)
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Self-directed researcher with strong problem-solving ability and scientific rigor
