What This Role Involves

Milton Hershey School is seeking dedicated Houseparents to live on campus and create a safe, nurturing home environment for students in a residential school setting. Houseparents support students’ daily routines, social and emotional growth, and character development while modeling positive values and life skills.

Core Duties

• Supervise after-school activities to ensure student safety and engagement
• Manage household responsibilities to maintain a clean and organized living environment
• Provide guidance and support for students, addressing their emotional needs and promoting positive behaviors
• Model and teach life skills such as responsibility, respect, and integrity
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure the overall well-being of students

Skills & Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a residential care setting or related field is preferred
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Pedagogical knowledge and understanding of child development principles
• A strong commitment to the mission and values of Milton Hershey School
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
