Role Overview

The Hourly Specialist (Health Benefits) plays a crucial role in the administration of health and wellness benefits for Atlanta Public Schools. Under the direction of the Assistant Director (Benefits and Risk Management), this position is responsible for ensuring the effective and consistent resolution of health benefit issues, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage health and wellness benefits programs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide accurate and timely support for claims processing, enrollment, and open enrollment activities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and resolution of benefit-related inquiries.
• Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and implement necessary updates to the benefits program.
• Conduct training sessions for employees on health and wellness programs as needed.

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting or public sector organization.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and employees.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and ACA is a plus.
