About the Role
This position focuses on keeping the property safe, comfortable, and fully operational by handling a variety of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. The technician works closely with front‑desk and housekeeping staff to resolve issues before they impact guest experience.
What You'll Do
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and associates, diagnosing and fixing issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and lighting systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house equipment to identify wear, safety hazards, or needed upgrades.
- Perform minor repairs such as patching walls, replacing fixtures, unclogging drains, and servicing door locks to maintain a polished appearance.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, local safety regulations, and fire‑code requirements by completing checklists and maintaining accurate logs.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, ordering parts and tools as needed while keeping storage areas organized and secure.
- Assist with special projects such as room renovations, lobby updates, or seasonal preparations, collaborating with contractors when required.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in hotel, motel, or commercial maintenance, with a solid grasp of general building systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with reading schematics, using hand and power tools, and following lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with guests, team members, and vendors in a courteous, professional manner.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a valid driver’s license is preferred for off‑site parts runs.
