Home Care Worker — Silverchain, Newcastle Region, New South Wales
The Opportunity
Silverchain is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Care Worker to join our team in the Newcastle region. As a valued member of our community care service, you will play a crucial role in supporting older individuals to live independently and enhance their quality of life.
- Assist with personal hygiene and daily living activities
- Promote social interaction and companionship
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at home
- Support medication management as required
- Help with light housekeeping and meal preparation
Core Duties
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing companionship to ensure emotional support
- Assisting with mobility and transferring clients safely
- Facilitating access to community resources and services
- Maintaining accurate documentation of client care activities
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals as needed
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current First Aid and CPR certification
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Experience in aged care or related field is advantageous but not mandatory
- A passion for supporting the elderly community
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
