The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Harm Reduction Outreach Worker to join our team based in Bishop Auckland. The role involves providing support and outreach services across County Durham, with a focus on harm reduction strategies for individuals at risk or affected by substance use disorders.

• 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (with one 30-minute early finish each week)
• One Saturday morning approximately every 12 weeks
• Permanent contract

Core Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing outreach and support to individuals at risk or affected by substance use disorders
• Implementing harm reduction strategies in the community
• Collaborating with local partners, organizations, and stakeholders to address public health issues related to substance use
• Maintaining accurate records of outreach activities and providing regular reports to management

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a compassionate individual who possesses the following qualifications:

• A relevant degree or equivalent experience in public health, social work, or a related field
• Experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders and/or mental health issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid UK driving license (as travel is required for outreach activities)
