About the Role
This full-time Graduate Nurse – Medical Surgical position is based on the Med Surg floor at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. As a newly licensed nurse, you'll deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while building the clinical foundation for a lasting career. The role follows a regular night schedule of 7p–7a, with shifts varying across nights, a commitment to every third weekend, and holiday coverage. There is no on-call requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, attentive nursing care to medical surgical patients across each scheduled night shift.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer treatments, and respond to changing care needs in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and the broader care team to support safe, coordinated patient outcomes.
- Document assessments and interventions accurately while practicing within the scope determined by the State Board.
- Support patients and families with clear communication and empathetic, individualized care.
Qualifications
- Completion of a nursing program from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility to practice nursing as established by the applicable State Board.
- Willingness to work full-time night shifts (7p–7a), including every third weekend and designated holidays.
