About the Role

As a Graduate Nurse (Nurse Resident) in Acute Care, you will join the Surgical unit at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital and begin practicing as part of a structured residency designed for early-career nurses. Working a day shift schedule in Saint Petersburg, you will deliver hands-on patient care while building the clinical judgment and confidence that define a successful acute care nursing career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, compassionate bedside care to acute care and surgical patients during the day shift.
  • Apply the nursing process — assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation — under the guidance of experienced preceptors.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgical teams, and interdisciplinary colleagues to coordinate safe patient care.
  • Document patient status, treatments, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in residency learning activities to strengthen acute care competencies and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program, prepared to practice as a Registered Nurse in Florida.
  • Eligibility for or active Florida RN licensure, consistent with new-graduate residency requirements.
  • Genuine interest in acute care and surgical nursing within a hospital setting.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Availability to work full-time, day shift, on site in Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County.
