Panama-Buena Vista Union School District is hiring for a full-time Elementary K-6 Classroom Teacher position for the 2026-2027 school year. Join our team in Bakersfield, Kern County, and make a direct impact on students' learning and development starting in August 2026.

What This Role Involves

You'll lead a K-6 classroom as the primary instructor, fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed. This position will have you collaborating with colleagues, communicating with families, and delivering instruction at one of our district school sites. Your work directly supports student academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and a strong sense of belonging within our school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction across core subjects including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies
• Assess student progress and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Establish and maintain positive classroom behavior expectations and create a respectful, inclusive classroom community
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress, strengths, and areas for growth
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and support specialists to ensure student success
• Implement effective teaching strategies that address the needs of English learners and all students

What We're Looking For

• Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with CLAD/EL authorization
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain an engaging, well-managed classroom environment
• Commitment to meeting students' individual academic and personal needs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Dedication to professional growth and continuous improvement in teaching practices
