About the Role
As a Sr. Title Agent, you will conduct detailed title examinations for surface and mineral interests, ensuring accurate ownership documentation for a variety of land‑based projects.
What You'll Do
- Research and analyze online public records pertaining to surface and mineral titles.
- Construct complete chains of title, pinpoint any gaps or defects, and draft comprehensive title abstracts.
- Interpret deeds, easements, leases, plats, probate documents, court filings, and other pertinent legal instruments.
- Summarize ownership interests, encumbrances, and any title issues for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Maintain organized files and databases of title work, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with landmen, attorneys, and project managers to support due diligence and transaction timelines.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience examining titles for surface and mineral rights, preferably in the energy or real‑estate sectors.
- Strong ability to read and interpret legal documents such as deeds, mortgages, leases, and probate records.
- Proficiency with title research platforms and public‑record databases.
- Excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to identify subtle title defects.
- Effective written and verbal communication for preparing clear title reports.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
