Position Summary
As an Education Specialist with our Head Start program, you'll work directly with preschool-age children in our Child Development Center, implementing developmentally appropriate curricula and supporting the educational mission of Head Start. This campus-based role combines direct child interaction, family engagement, and collaborative program support to create a nurturing learning environment.
What You'll Do
- Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate learning activities and curriculum that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Observe and document individual child progress, developmental milestones, and learning outcomes
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and program leadership to create inclusive, engaging classroom environments
- Engage families in their children's learning journey and support family involvement in the Head Start program
- Maintain accurate records, attendance logs, and documentation required for program compliance and accountability
- Support the overall operations and daily routines of the Child Development Center
- Participate in ongoing professional development and staff training
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience working with young children in an educational or care setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and diverse teams
- Valid criminal background clearance
- Valid Texas driver's license
