About the Role

This Distinguished Scientist role combines deep scientific expertise with leadership responsibility in quantitative biosciences and nonclinical pharmacology. You will drive strategic initiatives in drug discovery and development, applying cutting-edge quantitative approaches to pharmacological questions that directly impact patient outcomes. Based in South San Francisco, you'll work at the intersection of computational science and experimental pharmacology, influencing both immediate research priorities and long-term scientific direction.

What You'll Do

  • Design and execute advanced quantitative pharmacology studies, including pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic analyses
  • Develop mathematical models and computational frameworks to predict drug behavior and efficacy
  • Lead scientific strategy for nonclinical studies supporting IND applications and regulatory submissions
  • Collaborate across discovery, development, and regulatory teams to integrate quantitative insights into decision-making
  • Mentor and guide scientists in quantitative methods and best practices
  • Present complex pharmacological data and analysis to internal leadership and external scientific audiences
  • Contribute to methodological innovations and improvements in bioscience research tools

What We're Looking For

  • PhD in pharmacology, biopharmaceutics, quantitative biology, computational biology, or related scientific field
  • Substantial experience in nonclinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, or drug metabolism
  • Demonstrated mastery of quantitative modeling, biostatistics, and data analysis techniques
  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical development pathways and regulatory requirements
  • Proven track record of scientific leadership and influence within cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and scientific judgment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
