CleanHarbors is seeking a results-driven Director of Operations, Vapor Control to lead and elevate operational performance at our Long Beach facility in Los Angeles County. This full-time, on-site leadership role offers the opportunity to direct a critical business unit while championing safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
About the Role
As Director of Operations, Vapor Control, you will own the day-to-day management of one or more assigned business units in Long Beach, California. Your central charge is to maximize operational efficiency and uphold strong fiscal stewardship, ensuring every activity aligns with customer commitments as well as CleanHarbors' established policies, practices, and procedures. You will set the standard for performance while keeping the unit fully compliant with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all operational functions of the assigned vapor control business unit(s) to achieve peak efficiency and accountability.
- Safeguard fiscal responsibility by managing resources in line with customer agreements and budgetary expectations.
- Create, refine, and roll out operational policies and procedures that drive consistency and measurable results.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and industry regulations.
- Align unit operations with CleanHarbors' company-wide policies, practices, and procedures.
- Translate customer agreements into reliable, well-executed service delivery.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing operations within a business unit, ideally in vapor control, environmental, or industrial services.
- Strong command of operational policy development and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to balance efficiency goals with disciplined financial management.
- Availability to work on-site, full-time, in Long Beach, Los Angeles County.
