Director of Finance and Accounting

MARRIOTT is hiring a Director of Finance and Accounting at our Chicago headquarters in the Illinois Medical District. As a full-time member of our executive team, you'll lead all accounting operations and financial strategy for our organization, with direct oversight of our finance and accounting professionals.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced financial leader to drive accounting excellence and shape our financial strategy. Based at 320 N Dearborn Street in Chicago, this director-level position is central to our operational success and financial integrity. You'll partner with executive leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, optimize cash management, and support data-driven business decisions. This role offers the opportunity to build and mentor a high-performing finance team while establishing best practices in accounting operations and controls.

What You'll Do

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end close processes
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Prepare and present financial statements, budgets, and variance analyses to senior management and stakeholders
• Direct tax planning strategies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Lead, coach, and develop a talented accounting team to drive operational efficiency and professional growth
• Collaborate with other departments to support business planning, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements throughout the finance function

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
• 8+ years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a director or senior management role
• Deep expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems
• Proven experience leading and developing finance teams in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across all organizational levels
• Proficiency with accounting software and financial management systems

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers an annual salary of $154,000–$198,000, commensurate with experience. You'll also be eligible for performance bonuses based on company and individual achievement.
