Direct Support Professional RD-TW

Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional RD-TW in Carousel, Onondaga County to provide dedicated, compassionate support that helps an individual achieve greater independence and community engagement.

Position Summary

As a Direct Support Professional in the Syracuse area, you'll work directly with an individual who benefits from consistent assistance and meaningful support. Your role is to foster independence—helping with daily living, enabling community participation, and supporting your client's personal growth. You'll provide reliable, person-centered care both at home and throughout the wider community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities and personal care as needed
• Support community activities, social engagement, and meaningful outings
• Help maintain a safe, clean home environment
• Provide transportation and accompany client to community settings and appointments
• Document activities and observations according to agency protocols
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and the care team to refine support strategies
• Encourage skill development and foster confidence and independence

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background clearance check
• Genuine compassion and patience in supporting others
• Clear communication and adaptable problem-solving approach
• Physical capability to assist with mobility and daily tasks
• Commitment to reliability and quality, consistent care
• Openness to learning and responding to individual client needs
