About the Role

As a diesel technician in this entry-level role, you'll perform essential maintenance and repair work on Penske's fleet of commercial trucks and trailers. This position provides structured hands-on training in diesel engine systems, hydraulic components, electrical diagnostics, and preventive service procedures—ideal for technicians early in their career seeking to build expertise in heavy-duty equipment.

What You'll Do

• Execute scheduled maintenance services including fluid changes, filter replacements, and belt inspections on diesel-powered commercial vehicles
• Perform minor repairs and component replacements to restore functionality and extend vehicle lifecycle
• Conduct mechanical and electrical diagnostics using shop equipment and troubleshooting procedures
• Document all service activities accurately in the fleet management system for customer records
• Work collaboratively with service supervisors and advisors to meet maintenance schedules and priorities
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all OSHA and company safety protocols

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Entry-level experience or formal diesel technician training preferred
• Foundational knowledge of diesel engine operation and common service procedures
• Ability to read technical manuals and follow detailed work instructions
• Physical capability to lift components, work beneath vehicles, and stand throughout your shift
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
