Desoto County Sherriff’s Office Clinician

Charlotte Behavioral Health Care is seeking a dedicated full-time Clinician to support the Desoto County Sheriff's Office in Punta Gorda. In this position, you'll deliver mental health services, crisis intervention, and behavioral health coordination to Desoto County residents, helping prevent behavioral health crises and connect individuals with the care they need. Qualified candidates will receive a $4,000 sign-on bonus.

About the Role

As a Clinician with Charlotte Behavioral Health Care's Desoto County partnership, you'll serve as a bridge between law enforcement and the mental health care system. Your clinical expertise will help identify residents at risk, provide immediate intervention, and facilitate ongoing engagement with treatment resources. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that prioritizes both public safety and community wellness.

What You'll Do

• Conduct outreach to individuals referred through the Sheriff's Office to assess behavioral health needs and crisis risk
• Coordinate mental health services and connect residents with appropriate treatment programs and support resources
• Provide education to community members and law enforcement partners about mental health conditions and available services
• Conduct clinical assessments and risk evaluations to inform intervention planning
• Follow up with clients to ensure continuity of care and sustained treatment engagement
• Work directly with individuals and families to prevent behavioral health crises and promote recovery
• Maintain detailed clinical documentation and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

What We're Looking For

• Active clinical licensure in Florida
• Experience with crisis intervention and behavioral health assessment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse populations
