Deputy Athletics Director, Chief Revenue Officer

The Deputy Athletics Director, Chief Revenue Officer is a full-time leadership position with Michigan State Athletics in East Lansing, Ingham County. As the senior revenue executive, you will drive financial growth across the athletic department, lead cross-functional teams, and develop strategies to maximize and diversify revenue streams that support Michigan State's athletic excellence.

This position serves as a strategic senior leader within Michigan State Athletics, focused on building sustainable revenue models and identifying new financial opportunities. You will oversee multiple departments and collaborate with athletic leadership to achieve ambitious revenue goals while maintaining the integrity and mission of collegiate athletics.

What You'll Do

• Direct marketing, branding and creative services, sports information, and ticketing operations to optimize revenue potential
• Develop and execute comprehensive revenue diversification strategies across traditional and emerging revenue sources
• Lead ticket pricing, sales strategies, and fan engagement initiatives to drive attendance and revenue growth
• Oversee marketing and branding efforts that strengthen Michigan State Athletics' market position and visibility
• Manage sports information and communications functions to enhance stakeholder engagement and media relationships
• Identify and cultivate partnership opportunities with sponsors, vendors, and external organizations
• Monitor financial performance, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic planning
• Partner with the Athletic Director and senior leadership on departmental priorities and resource allocation

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in athletic administration, sports business, or senior revenue leadership
• Demonstrated success developing and implementing revenue diversification initiatives
• Strong background in marketing, ticket operations, sponsorship development, or related athletic business functions
• Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams and complex business operations
• Financial proficiency with strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities
• Strategic mindset balancing near-term revenue objectives with long-term departmental sustainability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship-building skills at all organizational levels
• Bachelor's degree in business, sports management, marketing, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred
