StockX is hiring a Senior Manager, International Indirect Tax to join our Global Tax team in the United States — a high-visibility, full-time position that places you alongside senior finance leadership and at the center of our worldwide growth strategy.

About the Role

As Senior Manager, International Indirect Tax at StockX, you will take full ownership of the indirect tax compliance function for every market we operate in outside the United States, covering VAT, GST, IOSS, OSS, and Intrastat obligations. Acting as a trusted subject matter expert across Finance, Accounting, Legal, Product, and Business Operations, you'll turn fast-changing cross-border tax requirements into clear guidance and scalable, audit-ready frameworks — all while safeguarding both the Company and our customers from unnecessary indirect tax exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly and quarterly reviews of non-U.S. indirect tax adjustments, including IOSS and OSS filings, and lead monthly Intrastat reviews across applicable EU member states.
  • Review proposed indirect tax journal entries, manage ERP posting approvals, and analyze month-over-month balance sheet flux with clear variance explanations.
  • Prepare indirect tax movement KPI reports for VP review and CFO close meetings, and calculate indirect tax reserves under applicable accounting standards.
  • Support the annual financial statement process through reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
  • Manage indirect tax audits, notices, IDRs, and controversy matters, including documentation gathering, reconciliations, response coordination, and audit trackers.
  • Monitor and research evolving indirect tax legislation, assess its impact on StockX, and drive implementation of required changes.
  • Evaluate the tax implications of new international initiatives and partner cross-functionally to deliver process improvements and registrations.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop tax professionals, building succession plans and a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in international indirect tax, with hands-on VAT/GST/JCT compliance and advisory work across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Deep expertise in EU VAT, including IOSS, OSS, Intrastat, and fiscal representation frameworks.
  • Experience with tax account reconciliations, workpapers, and month- or quarter-end close support.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex tax concepts for cross-functional partners and senior leaders, and to manage multiple compliance workstreams in a high-growth setting.
  • Strong analytical, research, communication, and project management skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, and Databricks or similar tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; e-commerce, marketplace, or digital goods experience required.
  • Nice to have: public accounting background, Avalara or comparable tax technology, Power BI, and a CPA or equivalent license.

About this role & career path

The path usually builds from tax associate or manager roles in public accounting or in-house retail/e-commerce into senior management of international indirect tax—owning policy, controls, and advisory for multi-jurisdiction marketplaces.

Build the skills for this role

Prioritize VAT/GST and marketplace facilitator regimes, transfer-pricing adjacent awareness for cross-border ops, ERP/tax engine configuration, and clear stakeholder writing. The supplied CERTS list targets nursing coursework and does not map to this tax role.

    Free & low-cost learning resources

Expect scenarios on marketplace VAT collection, multi-country registration, and how product or logistics changes (e.g., authentication centers, used goods) affect tax. Prepare concise examples of policy decisions, system controls, and working with non-tax teams under tight deadlines.

Strong fit if you enjoy global indirect tax complexity in a high-volume digital marketplace with physical authentication and expanding product categories—not a pure local corporate tax seat.
