Aerospike is hiring a full-time Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Australia to architect and safeguard the cloud platform behind one of the world's fastest real-time databases. If you thrive on building systems that stay fast, resilient, and automated at massive scale, this role is for you.

About the Role

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Aerospike, you will design, build, and continually refine a highly scalable and fault-tolerant cloud platform. Your work centers on raising the bar for reliability, performance, and automation so that Aerospike's cloud services run smoothly end to end. Expect to engineer dependable infrastructure, stand up intelligent observability, and lead improvement efforts that strengthen efficiency, scalability, and platform stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and tune large-scale Aerospike cloud infrastructure and services across multiple environments
  • Advance automation and infrastructure-as-code practices to streamline day-to-day operations
  • Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability so issues are caught and resolved before they escalate
  • Own incident response, run post-mortems, and turn findings into lasting improvements
  • Define and enforce security and access-control best practices across cloud infrastructure
  • Partner with development teams to deliver reliable services aligned with SRE principles
  • Join the on-call rotation, respond to critical incidents, and reduce downtime through proactive mitigation
  • Create runbooks, documentation standards, and configuration records that grow shared team knowledge
  • Drive capacity planning and performance optimization
  • Mentor junior engineers and help build team capability

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in SRE, DevOps, or a related discipline building scalable, resilient, automated cloud systems
  • Hands-on experience running production-grade, business-critical workloads in the cloud
  • Depth in at least one major public cloud (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and its cloud-native services
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code skills, particularly Terraform, plus CI/CD pipeline design
  • Solid command of Linux/Unix, networking, and distributed system architectures
  • Scripting and development proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployment and scaling
  • Familiarity with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Elasticsearch, or Kibana
  • A track record of applying cloud security and data-protection best practices, with excellent written and spoken English

Preferred: production database management experience, familiarity with Aerospike or other distributed NoSQL databases, relevant AWS, Google Cloud, or Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD, CKS) certifications, and configuration management tools like Ansible.
