About the Role
In this senior underwriting role, you'll evaluate credit applications, assess borrower financial capacity, and make strategic credit decisions that balance risk protection with business growth. You'll manage customer relationships in the inventory finance space while ensuring all credit activities comply with regulatory requirements and Huntington's lending policies.
What You'll Do
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documents to determine creditworthiness
- Conduct detailed financial ratio analysis and trend evaluation to assess borrower repayment capacity
- Make credit recommendations and approve lending requests within your authority and established guidelines
- Monitor assigned customer accounts and evaluate credit portfolio performance for ongoing quality
- Document credit decisions with comprehensive analysis and supporting memoranda
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal credit policies
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and compliance teams on credit-related initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Advanced expertise in commercial credit analysis and underwriting methodologies
- Thorough knowledge of inventory finance products, collateral structures, and risk assessment
- Strong ability to analyze financial statements and perform quantitative financial modeling
- Experience with credit policy, regulatory compliance, and risk management in lending environments
- Proven capability to exercise independent judgment and make sound credit recommendations
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Previous commercial credit, underwriting, or credit analysis experience
