Court Interpreter (Punjabi Language)

About the Role

As a Court Interpreter with fluent Punjabi language capability, you will provide skilled interpretation services across courtroom proceedings and related judicial activities. You'll work directly with the Court to bridge communication for witnesses, defendants, attorneys, court personnel, and members of the public who require Punjabi interpretation support. This role is fundamental to maintaining the integrity of the judicial process and guaranteeing equal access to justice for all Merced County residents.

What You'll Do

• Deliver accurate consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during courtroom proceedings and hearings
• Interpret depositions, trials, and other court-related legal proceedings as assigned
• Facilitate clear communication between English-speaking court personnel and Punjabi-speaking participants
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professional conduct in all court settings
• Respond to urgent interpretation requests and scheduling needs on short notice
• Work collaboratively with judges, court staff, attorneys, and all parties involved in legal matters
