Mental Health America of South Central Kansas seeks a skilled and compassionate Coordinator of Homeless Services to lead our residential programs in Eastborough, Sedgwick County. This full-time position reports to the Clinical Director of Residential Programs and provides essential oversight and coordination for a dedicated team of residential specialists serving individuals experiencing homelessness.
About the Role
As Coordinator of Homeless Services, you'll manage program operations, guide service delivery, and supervise the Residential Team Leaders and Behavioral Health Specialists who form the backbone of our homeless services work. You'll ensure our residential programs operate effectively, maintain quality standards, and deliver meaningful support to clients building pathways toward stability and independence.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily operations of homeless services programs and coordinate activities across residential teams
- Supervise, evaluate, and develop Residential Team Leaders and Behavioral Health Specialists, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies for residential programs
- Design and implement program improvements that enhance client outcomes and service quality
- Manage scheduling, staffing allocation, and resource planning for homeless services operations
- Collaborate with clinical leadership, other departments, and community partners to strengthen program effectiveness
- Monitor key performance indicators, track client progress, and prepare program reports for leadership
- Provide direct support and mentoring to frontline staff working in challenging, high-impact residential environments
What We're Looking For
- Professional experience in homeless services, residential programs, or behavioral health settings
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Familiarity with homelessness best practices, trauma-informed care, and relevant compliance standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage diverse populations
- Compassion and genuine commitment to serving individuals experiencing homelessness
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, psychology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
