Love’s Travel Stops is seeking a Diesel Technician to join the team at the Metrocenter, Hinds County location.
About the Role
As a Diesel Technician, you will keep the fleet and equipment running smoothly while supporting a busy travel center that serves drivers every day. This full‑time position offers the chance to work hands‑on with diesel engines, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical issues in a fast‑paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on diesel‑powered vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, and electrical systems using industry‑standard tools and diagnostic software.
- Perform component replacements, fluid changes, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Maintain accurate service records and follow all company safety and environmental protocols.
- Assist with parts inventory management and help keep the workshop organized and clean.
- Collaborate with teammates and supervisors to meet service deadlines and uphold Love’s commitment to friendly, reliable service.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or technician, preferably in a transportation or fleet setting.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, and related mechanical components.
- Ability to read schematics, use diagnostic equipment, and follow technical service bulletins.
- Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail when performing repairs.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL is a plus but not required.
- Commitment to workplace safety, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
