About the Role
This position involves supporting the U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFF) Headquarters at USFF Norfolk, Virginia, as part of their Communications and Information Systems Division Support Team. As a Converged Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing Navy fleet readiness and homeland security through information technology support tasks such as program management, network engineering, maritime operations center/tactical systems support, and video teleconferencing.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for converged infrastructure solutions to support USFF HQ's IT needs.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network environments.
- Support program management tasks related to IT initiatives and projects.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices in a government environment.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with stakeholders across various departments.
What We're Looking For
- IAT II Certification (typically CompTIA SEC+).
- VCP or NetApp NCIE-SAN or Cisco CCNP Data Center certification.
- Strong understanding of network engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with converged infrastructure solutions in a government setting preferred.
- Prior experience working on IT support tasks for military or federal agencies is advantageous.
